In October 1998, SPS Aerostructures (formerly Chevron Aerospace Limited) became a wholly owned subsidiary of SPS Technologies. SPS Aerostructures' machining facility in Mansfield, England provides a world-class capability for precision machining of a wide variety of aircraft structural components. It is equipped with state of the art machine tools ranging from 3-axis vertical to 5-axis horizontal CNC machining centres. Investments in the latest Catia V5 machine-programming software has enhanced their ability to interface directly with airframe design teams. Optimum operating efficiency is achieved through the use of FMS multi-pallet technology and the latest snap-off tooling, covering every requirement from small prismatic parts to complex structural components.

SPS Aerostructures' fabrication facility in Annesley, England operates to the latest flow-line manufacturing techniques providing automation throughout the manufacturing process. Using the latest CNC equipment, SPS Aerostructures capabilities include the following:

Avionics

SPS's electrical division has developed a world-class reputation for the production of instrument and electrical distribution panels, armament controls and main electrical load centres as well as writing harnesses and other wired assemblies. All production is carried out to universally accept aerospace standards for both civil and military aircraft.

This division also boasts the ability to manufacture and automatically test complete assemblies with our advanced DITMCO 2000 and 9500 series ATE machines utilising both customer supplied and test programs generated on site at SPS.

To provide positive cable identification, we have introduced the latest ultra violet laser printing system giving non-aggressive cable marking to ensure reliability and cost reduction opportunities.

Investment in additional facilities extends our range of services to complete turnkey production covering PCB manufacture, diagnostic and repair as well as unit test and prototype writing.

We have developed and maintained a high degree of electrical skill within our workforce and offer this expertise as a means to engineer, manage and manufacture prototype and first off assemblies for both our aerospace and our wider customer base.

Repair and overhaul services are also offered for a wide variety of aircraft structural components including flying controls, freight or passenger doors and galleys.
