The SPS self-retaining bolt system provides a simple, reliable method of insuring bolt retention in shear joints. The system consists of a solid bolt with a circular spring around the shank, coupled with a counterbored castellated nut. The expanded spring retains the bolt without a cotter pin. SPS self-retaining bolts are available in any style shear bolt.
