Inserts Enhance Thread Life and Performance in Soft Materials

JENKINTOWN, PA. – Jenkintown, PA. - SPS Technologies, a leading manufacturer of high-strength fasteners and precision components, offers a line of solid wall stake locked inserts for aerospace and military applications.

The SPS stake locked inserts provide excellent resistance to torque-out and pullout. Integral stakes driven into the parent material mechanically lock the insert in place to prevent rotation under high torsion loading and extreme vibration. The inserts can be used to enhance thread life and performance in soft materials such as aluminum and magnesium. They are also available in self-broaching materials to eliminate pre-broaching in hard materials. The stake locked inserts are available in #2 through 1-1/4” and 4mm to 24mm internal thread sizes with UNJF, UNJC and metric threads. Titanium, Alloy 718, 4140 alloy steel, 17-4 PH, A286 and 303 or 304 stainless steel materials with finishes of cadmium, molybdenum disulfide solid film lubricant, nickel and silver are available. The inserts are manufactured to MS, AS and NAS standards or specific customer requirements.
